Nestie Shower
August 27, 2010In early August, I co-hosted a baby shower for a very dear friend who is expecting her first child in September. And by co-hosted, I mean that my co-hostess, Heidi, did all of the work. No, really. She assembled and mailed the invitations, created the banner, bought the paper goods, and offered up her home for the event. I, as the lazy-ass half of our wonder duo, made three dishes, made my husband cut up a watermelon, and got to go shopping with all of the group money to buy big presents from all of us. I totally had the hard job.
Heidi, Lisa, and the rest of the ladies in attendance (save for one special guest) all met on The Knot back when were planning our respective weddings. The local board for Baltimore was a happenin’ place back then and we all managed to bond together and become friends in the midst of wedding-planning insanity. We’re all old married ladies now and try to get together every so often to hang out in person rather than just relying on our (prolific) online conversation to keep our friendships going, and having one of our nearest-and-dearest pregnant makes for the perfect party excuse!

Pretty flowers for the Mama

The food. Oooooooh, the food.

Special guests - Lisa's Mom, Paulette, and Nestie Baby, Annie

Me, Lisa, and Heidi - please excuse my bad hair day

Pretty, happy Lisa!

Nestie Girls!
Heidi, I love you and thank you so much for all that you did to make the party wonderful! Lisa, we love you dearly and cannot wait to meet your sweet little Smudgie! Thank you for letting us celebrate his impending arrival with you!

Hope you guys had a great time! That Heidi is one awesome friend!
